Building a career at the intersection of music, business, and law.

WHO I AM

My career has always been rooted in music. From working in artist royalties to studying law, I've been drawn to the intersection of creativity, business, and advocacy. As a third-year law student at Georgia State University, I'm combining years of music industry experience with legal training to pursue a career in entertainment law. I enjoy the challenge of translating complex agreements into practical solutions and hope to help artists and entertainment companies protect the work they're passionate about.

How I got here

It all began with a toy violin that I would carry around the house and pretend to play. After begging my parents for a real violin, they finally gave in and signed me up for lessons through the Suzuki Method.

Music exists for the purpose of growing an admirable heart.
— Dr. Shinichi Suzuki

Playing the violin in orchestras throughout my life not only instilled discipline and confidence, but also gave me a deep appreciation for music and the arts.

My interest in the arts expanded beyond performance into every corner of the creative world. Whether drawing, painting, or being backstage manager for my high school’s theater program, I found myself drawn to the people who create.

After high school, I attended California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), where I studied business and held various positions on campus. During this time, I booked bands for campus concerts while working at House of Blues. These experiences gave me a behind-the-scenes look at the live music industry.

During my last semester at CSUF, I landed an internship at Warner Music Group. This was my first opportunity to work at a record label, which I’d dreamed of for years. I even got to experience both the Burbank and Downtown Los Angeles offices as the company moved during my internship.

Graduating from CSUF marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Soon after, I left California (where I was born and raised) and moved to Nashville to chase opportunities in the music industry, embracing the uncertainty of moving to a brand new place.

Working with artist contracts every day gave me a firsthand understanding of how the terms negotiated on paper directly shaped artists' rights, royalties, and careers. It was this realization that inspired me to pursue entertainment law.

Fast forward a few years, I chose to pursue my J.D. at Georgia State University College of Law. With Atlanta's thriving entertainment industry and GSU's strong entertainment, sports, and intellectual property law program, I couldn’t be happier with my choice. Did I mention we have a class called Hip-Hop & The Law?

My 1L and 2L summers were spent at Concord Music Group and Loeb & Loeb, respectively, where I had the opportunity to experience entertainment law from both the in-house and law firm perspectives. Working on contracts, transactions, and music rights reinforced my passion for the field and confirmed that entertainment law is exactly where I want to build my career.

The story continues…

Every chapter of my journey has led to the next. What began with a toy violin and school orchestras has grown into a career in the music industry and now entertainment law. I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds.
